Eight strange little worlds. One herd. Pick a signal and make contact.
Darlene
The overthinker who still shows up.
Carries Overthinking
I've thought of twelve ways this could go wrong. I'm coming anyway.
You see the world in a way most people don't, and you're learning, slowly and imperfectly, to love yourself for it. Darlene gets it.
Secret strength: Noticing what everyone else misses
Hobart
Anyone becoming something new.
Carries The in-between
Today is in the trash, I think I'll try tomorrow too.
You're in a period of transition and you have an unshakable faith that something more is on its way. Hobart has been there.
Secret strength: Believing in what's not finished yet
Juniper
Deep feelers along for the ride.
Carries Deep feeling
Sometimes I steer. Sometimes I just let the current decide. Either way, I'm the best at it.
You're tuned into the room, the vibe, where you fit. You're learning when to steer and when to go with the flow. That's Juniper.
Secret strength: Reading a room before anyone else does
JimBob
Loud hearts with soft centers.
Carries A loud heart
I have so many thoughts. I'm working on saving some room for yours.
You have a lot to say and you care a lot. You're working on the listening part. JimBob is right there with you.
Secret strength: Caring out loud, no half measures
Love Yourself
The one who needs gentleness.
Carries A hard inner voice
The relationship I'm still learning how to be gentle in is the one with myself.
You know the most important relationship in your life is the one with yourself. The Love Yourself Schnerd reminds you to treat that person accordingly.
Secret strength: Choosing kindness on the difficult days
Aarg
Aarg is angry, but anger is information.
Carries Anger
Yeah I’m mad, everybody hears the AARG. Nobody asks what happened first!
Aarg is a Sea Schnerd from the Gowanus Canal, angry because home has gotten toxic. Anger isn't bad behavior, sometimes it's trying to tell you something important.
Secret strength: Noticing exactly what's wrong before anyone else does
Rramon
Rramon needs to learn to say no.
Carries A scoreboard nobody else can see
No, no, it's fine. I'll just do it myself.
Rramon runs the busiest burger place in the Schnerdiverse and almost never says no. The orders keep coming, he keeps saying yes, and the tiredness comes out sideways.
Secret strength: Making everybody who walks in feel looked after
Nelly
Nelly feels... A LOT
Carries Every exit, already located
I'm fine. I just want to check one thing first.
Nelly got here twenty minutes early and has been sitting with it ever since. Three more of her trail along behind, all having the same thought at once.
Secret strength: She spots the person who is struggling, usually first

How the Herd Connects
Every Schnerd is missing a piece someone else already carries.
Who likes who
Nobody likes them back. Yet.
Everybody ends up at Rramon's
AargPushes him on purpose, so he'll finally stand up for himself.
JimBobWould rather be yelled at than sighed at.
Love YourselfKeeps telling him to eat something.
DarleneWorked one shift. Mixed up every order.
The connection map is still growing.

Meet Juniper. Today's her first day at a new school, and the cafeteria feels huge.
“Yeah! Awesome hit! Yeah! Go team!” “This dress would be so cute on you.” “Ooh, show me!” “Loud and proud!”
Where do I belong? What if nobody wants me there? I can do something about this. I know it, but I'm scared. I'm feeling nervous, and maybe scared. I am who I am, and where I am. Maybe this feeling is trying to tell me something. Until I know, on I go.
I know what to do. I'll invent a social thermometer to measure how safe I feel in any situation. Warm is safe, and cold is not for Juniper.
I am so excited to try it out at school. Warm means welcoming and safe. Cold means distant, and that makes me swim too hard just to stay afloat. Warm means welcoming and safe. Warm means welcoming and safe. I don't have to change who I am. I just need to find my warm spot.
“Hi, I'm new here. Can I sit with you?” “Of course! We were just talking about inventions. What's that?” “It tells me how a place feels. Some places are warm, like this one. Others feel cold, like I'm swimming against a current just to be there.”
“Whoa, that's brilliant! I totally know what you mean. And it's nice to be reminded we don't need to change who we are to feel safe. We just need the right current.”
You don't have to swim against the current. Find the places that make you feel warm, safe, and celebrated for who you are. I found my warm place, and you can find yours!
